
Namaste! I am Jaya Dharamdasani, Founder & Director of YogaforKids®, with over 20 years of experience in teaching, training, and developing programs in kids yoga, mindfulness, social-emotional learning (SEL), Brain Gym®, and sensory-motor activities.
My mission is to make yoga joyful, meaningful, and accessible for children, parents, and educators by blending traditional yogic wisdom with modern child development principles.
My Qualifications
• 900-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training — The Yoga Institute, Mumbai
• RYT-500 Registered Yoga Teacher — Yoga Alliance-recognized institution
• Sensory-Motor Development Expert — Integrating yoga with sensory-motor activities for holistic growth
• Reiki Practitioner — Supporting well-being through energy healing
• Curriculum Developer & Author — Authored yoga books for children and contributed to textbooks for the Bharatiya Shiksha Board
• Teacher Trainer — Experienced in training yoga teachers and wellness educators in India and internationally.
My Experience
• Founder & Director, YogaforKids® — Developed specialized children’s yoga programs integrating yoga, Brain Gym®, sensory-motor activities, and life skills.
• Teacher Training & Educator Development — Conducted professional trainings for teachers and yoga instructors, creating comprehensive curricula and manuals.
• International Workshops & Events — Led programs at Cambridge University (UK), Sidney Sussex College, Churchill College, and conducted workshops in Mumbai, Pune, Hong Kong, and the UK.
• School & Institutional Teaching — Taught at Beacon High School, Mount Litera International School, Kids Concept, Little Bo Peep, and other institutions, working with toddlers to teens.
• Author & Curriculum Developer — Authored Young One’s Yoga with Fafa and Juno (Levels 1 & 2), developed the Bloom with Yoga series for Sheth Publications, and contributed to mental health and wellbeing textbooks for the Bharatiya Shiksha Board.
• Early Childhood & Parent–Toddler Programs — Designed and led specialized sessions at Wind Chimes and other early childhood centers.
My Approach
At YogaforKids®, I specialize in age-appropriate yoga and holistic movement programs for children from toddlers to teens. I believe in a child-centric approach—integrating stories, props, music, and play-based learning to make yoga engaging and transformative.
